What is "Musika Popular, Kultura Biswal" all about?
10:49pm.Monday.February 9, 2009
The project is a fund-raising Concert featuring the songs from the Great Original Pilipino Music album of Mr. Ryan Cayabyab.
The Concert entitled “Musica Filipino, Kultura Biswal: A Concert for a Cause” will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on June 5, 2009.
This event will combine the world-renowned Madrigal Choir and the young artists of the UP College of Music orchestra with no less than Mr. Ryan Cayabyab as conductor.
Kitchie Nadal & Rico Blanco will also render a number songs.
Also invited are the creative people of Team Manila & Lomo Manila who will provide some of the visual effects for the show.
By this is meant that Team Manila & Lomo Manila will collaborate in producing the images – in photos (mainly) to be used for the visual “presentations” accompanying the music.
We also want Team Manila to design the print ads for this event.
We would like the concert to have that visual character (Kultura Biswal) of Team Manila’s identity in the same way that Ryan Cayabyab will provide his signature OPMs for the event’s musical aspect.
The event mainly aims to fund-raise for the undertakings of PFCED, Inc. among which is the construction of study centers for cultural, professional and values formation.
PFCED Inc.’s educational centers supplement the university instruction of students & the career development of young professionals all over the country through activities which incorporate human values like leadership, industry and integrity.
It will also give some of its proceeds to Project: Brave Kids, an NGO, which has for its mission to assist children with cancer and their families so as to improve their lives by enhancing their social, emotional and physical well being.
As stated, the project also seeks to heighten the popularity of classic Philippine Pop and orchestra music among teen-agers.
The concert organizers are closely collaborating with schools like UP, DLSU, UST, FEU, PWU, MAPUA, UE and UA&P.
The project would also like to draw attention to the talent of young Filipino artists like those in the College of Music Orchestra of the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
In these times of economic crisis, one of the first industries to suffer is the culture.
